Every year at Thanksgiving my family participates in our annual push-up contest. -- Heidi R. Every Christmas Eve we would drive backwards from one grandparent’s house to the other (they were just around the corner.) My dad did it one year and it became a tradition. -- JP, Boston My family dresses up as pilgrims and Indians. We have legitimate costumes. -- Marian S. Would you be able to serve on a jury for the trial of the alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? Yes. -- Andrea G. Obama was elected a year ago. Has your opinion of him changed? Not at all. I knew he would never be able to deliver the changes that he promised and he has proven it already. His popularity ratings show that the people who voted for him now realize that too. -- Simcha I respect him greatly as a person. BUT outsourcing domestic policy to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi has proven to be a terrible strategy. -- Leigh, NJ Still a huge fan of him, and his initiatives. However, I'm feeling he's not being tough enough on the Republicans nor his less loyal Democratic colleagues. I wish he'd stop trying to compromise and just DO what the people elected him to do. (Healthcare, Energy and Financial Industry reform and regulation) -- Nick M. Not at all. He was a populist Marxist from infamous Chicago political backwaters. And he just confirmed that immage. -- Lenny S., Chicago My opinion has changed. He is even more liberal than I feared. I do not approve of his agenda at all. -- Doug H. He is doing better than most presidents and far better than Bush. The Washington crowd is having difficulty with a president who listens less to his party bosses and more to his intellect. The Republican-leaning media is doing their best to continue the campaign of fear that has become their hallmark. -- Anonymous I like him even more. -- Uptin, NYC Our great hope has become our biggest failure. Promising change we could believe in and delivering same old Chicago hard ball politics. -- Robert H. Yes, my opinion has changed. I voted for him because I was impressed with his intellect and charisma. Now I'm overwhelmed. As far as I'm concerned, he's a rock star. Not a day goes by that he doesn't do something that impresses me. He has changed the way we and the rest of the world view the President of the United States. Whenever that day comes, his shoes are going to be very hard to fill. I predict that history will look back on him as the greatest president ever to serve this country. -- Verne H., NYC He was voted as the most powerful man in America. He is also the most dangerous. If you like socialism, move to Europe! -- John C. No - he is exactly as marxist as I thought he would be. -- Lisa N. It seems a lot of people were expecting instant results after his election. That's not realistic. Anyone in the oval office would have the same results at this point. Economic recovery is a slow process. I am starting to see some improvement: friends who were laid off a year ago are going back to work, there haven't been as many forclosures in my neighborhood. We need to learn to be patient and see what more Obama can do. -- Lisa; Union City, New Jersey I didn’t’ like him then and I don’t like him now! -- Tuija G. |
